Utility of obtaining a level B1 of Italian

How much time do I need to get to level B1?

It’s a common question: how many hours of language training do you need to advance by one level? Not surprisingly, you want to know what you’re getting yourself into when you start a language course and how long it will take you to reach your goal. To be honest, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Fortunately, we can provide a reasonable estimate.

If you’ve ever taken a language course, you’ve almost certainly been told your CEFR level and shown the associated model. That model appears to be a set of stairs with the same distance between each step and each level. You’ve climbed one level on the CEFR ladder by taking one step.

According to our program of classes, to obtain a B1 level the student of Dante in Linea must take6 didactic units of the A1, 6 didactic units of the A2 Livello and 8 didactic units of Livello B1, in total 20 didactic units.

If you start studying with us, and you don’t have any knowledge of Italian, you can study this program in our group classes in 18 months or privately if you wish to accelerate and reach this level in less time.

There are several bodies that certify and issue the Official Certificate by the Italian Republic, such as the University for Stranieri di Siena, the University per Stranieri di Perugia, the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre and Società Dante Alighieri.

If you are interested in certifying your level of Italian, we recommend you to carry out the CILS Certification, issued by the Università per Stranieri di Siena.
