OUR LEVELS

We work with the Università per Stranieri di Siena, which certifies Italian as an official foreign language. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages(CEFR), endorsed by the Council of Europe, is a European standard for measuring the level of understanding of a given language.

What will I learn at the end of the course?

Throughout this 34-week course, students will learn Italian at the required level and skills that will help them pass the B1 Citizenship exam. No previous knowledge of Italian is necessary to attend this course but students must be committed to studying at home and completing all assignments

Listening

I can understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. I can understand the main point of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest when the delivery is relatively slow and clear.

Reading

I can understand texts that consist mainly of high-frequency everyday or job-related language. I can understand the description of events, feelings, and wishes in personal letters.

Spoken interaction

I can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. I can enter unprepared into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events)

Spoken Production

I can connect phrases in a simple way in order to describe experiences and events, my dreams, hopes, and ambitions. I can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. I can narrate a story or relate the plot of a book of films or films and describe my reactions.

Writing

I can write simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. I can write personal letters describing experiences and impressions

Is online learning as effective as face-to-face classes?

What happens if I miss a class?

If you miss one or more days of your classes, you will have each lesson available on the platform for 15 days. We also ask that you do not arrive late to class, do not leave before the class is over, and that you actively participate during class.

Is Dante in Linea a language learning app?

We are not a language learning application. We are an Italian  language school that operates entirely online. We provide live classes with certified, native-speaking teachers, just like any other school. Nothing, according to Dante in Linea, can replace live interaction and tailored feedback from a real person.
