A1 Italian Beginner Course

If you’re completely new to Italian or still mastering the basics, our Italian A1 Beginner course is the perfect starting point for you.

You’ll join a small group class of 5–8 students, designed to maximize interaction and learning. Classes are available in three formats: Regular (2 times a week), Semi-Intensive (3 times a week), and Intensive (5 times a week). Each session lasts between 50 or 75 minutes, depending on the course format.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of the A1 level course, you will:

  • Build Essential Vocabulary: Learn key words and phrases for daily interactions, including greetings, numbers, and basic conversational expressions.
  • Master Fundamental Grammar: Understand articles, present tense conjugations (regular and irregular verbs like essere and avere), and sentence structures with gender and number agreement.
  • Develop Basic Communication Skills: Engage in simple conversations, introduce yourself, and ask/answer basic questions.
  • Improve Listening and Reading Comprehension: Understand spoken Italian through short dialogues and practice reading beginner-level texts.
  • Practice Writing: Write basic sentences and short paragraphs about yourself and familiar topics.

  • Intensive Course: This fast-paced course is completed in 1.5 month, with 5 classes per week.
How do I choose the right course for me?

Consider your personal schedule and how quickly you want to progress. The regular course is great for students with limited time who prefer a slower pace. The semi-intensive course is ideal for those who want to move at a moderate pace but have some flexibility. The intensive course is best for students who can dedicate significant time to studying and wish to accelerate their learning.
